LAFC U16 Girls Champions Once Again!!!!!!!

The LAFC U16 Girls competed in the NHB Tournament Aug 25-26th and came out with the VICTORY!!
This was truly and collectively a win that the girls earned from the moment they stepped onto the pitch. Saturday’s games were the start of what was sure to be a great weekend for the girls as they won both games 3-0.
Sunday gave way to perfect “soccer weather” with partly cloudy skies, a couple of drops of rain, a bolt of lightening and a little bit of thunder. The girls came out in full force and defeated their opponent 2-1 in the semi-finals. The girls controlled the game throughout with superb defending; and in the mid field they did a tremendous job helping the defenders out and helping the offenders create scoring opportunities. The girls up front showed us how well their skill and speed can put the ball in the net. This game was tied at the end 1-1 challenging both teams on who would be heading into the finals. The girls played too well to back down now, and they persevered throughout some injuries, and fatigue to win the game in overtime with a shot on a free kick to clench the win.
The final game led the girls to victory 2-1. Though the girls were notably tired they continued the fight and brought in some fresh legs to the mid-field that were a great threat there. One of the girls hit a great shot on a free kick which hit the cross-bar, but another was right there to tap it in. The goalie did an extraordinary job only giving up 2 goals the entire tournament.
What a way to finish the day and head into the season as Champs.
