U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Thomas Rongen chose LAFC’s Carlos Alvarez to be among the 16 players to attend a training camp Aug 10-14 in Sunrise, Fla.. The team played a pair of friendly matches against Guatemala U-20 Men’s National Team during that camp.
The teams competed as part of their preparations for the 2009 CONCACAF Under-20 World Cup Qualifying Tournament, which will be held in Trinidad & Tobago early next year.
The U.S. lost their first match 0-1 and tied their second in a two-game series.
