The ID2 Regional Training Camps bring together the nation’s top youth players for four days of competition, evaluation and fun. Players are identified to participate in the ID2 Regional Training Camps as a result of a yearlong scouting program. An invitation-only event, the ID2 Regional Training Camps also seek to identify and develop the country’s best players for inclusion in US Soccer’s youth national team programs. US Soccer Youth Development Program staff are in attendance at the ID2 Regional Training Camps to monitor players’ performances. Once players arrive at a ID2 Regional Training Camp, US Club Soccer covers all player expenses.
- 2008 ID2 Program Details
- Boys born in 95/96 and girls born in 94/95 will be invited to attend one of the following four-day ID2 Regional Training Camps:
- Oct. 2-5 at PDA’s Soccer Facility in Zarephath, NJ
- Oct. 10-13 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA
- Nov. 13-16 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX
LAFC players Ever De La Torre (95), Sebastian Velasco (96) and Axel Mendez (96) have been selected to attend the camp at the Home Depot Center in October as a result of their fine performances over the past year.
Ever De La Torre has already been placed on the National Scouting map and has recently been selected for the US U14 National Team. This will be the first time Velasco and Mendez have earned the opportunity to train at this level and with this caliber of coaching and players. Ever plays for Josh Henderson and our U14 Boys whereas Axel and Sebastian play for Barry Ritson on the U13 and U12 team respectively. All 3 have played for Barry Ritson in the past and he believes the training they recieve over the 4 days will be a huge benefit in their development.
Its a great opportunity for these 3 players and we hope with their continued success comes more opportunities for LAFC players in the very near future. LAFC is officially on the map of club soccer at a National level!
Congrats Boys!
