LAFC BU11 Black Takes 1st at Rampage Winter Break Tournament
December 26, 2007
LAFC’s BU11 Black continued their winning winter ways by taking first place at the LA Rampage Winter Break Tournament on December 15-16, 2007. After holding the hosts to a goalless draw in the opening match, they defeated their opponents 5-0, 6-0, and 3-0 for a "clean" tournament! The last match was particularly exciting because the boys knew they needed a full 10 points to clinch first place, but led only 1-0 at halftime, on a goal from Aidan Mackey. The boys made the necessary adjustments at halftime to beat the "offside trap" that the opposition sprang repeatedly in the first half. Connor Roberts and Jose Diaz scored the tournament-clinching goals in the second half.
Special thanks also goes to Abraham Romero of LAFC’s BU10 Black team, who filled in well as goalkeeper.
LAFC BU11 Black are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in all competitions and now look forward to a productive winter and a run at the California Cup in February.
Well done boys! |
